About Me

MADELAINE JONES Bsc (Hons) Adv.Dip.Hyp

I am an advanced clinical hypnotherapist based in Manchester.

I’m a nurse by profession and have always been interested in promoting well being. I first became interested in hypnotherapy shortly after my Mum passed away. She had Alzheimer’s disease for 12 years which were very difficult times for me as I’m sure you can imagine. In the weeks after her death there were many complex emotions to deal with as well as all of the practical issues. I felt that I needed to take some time out to recover and reground myself. I began to actively seek out therapies and techniques to support me in my recovery.

Hypnotherapy can help you to move forward and make long lasting changes to any behaviour which is no longer serving you.

I have undertaken some additional training in anxiety related disorders and how these impact on daily life.  I have a particular interest in working with clients presenting with anxiety and trauma related issues.

Professional Ethics

I follow a strong code of professional ethics which is second nature to me as a nurse.  This means that you can be guaranteed that I will treat your information with the strictest of confidence.

You can be rest assured that I am fully insured and am also a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register.   I choose to tell you this so that you know that the therapy I offer is regulated and meets required standards.

My journey with hypnotherapy is continuous as I am always learning and updating my knowledge.  In fact as a requirement of my registration with the General Hypnotherapy Register I am required to attend regular training courses and also to receive supervision on an ongoing basis. This ensures that my practices are up to date and that I am able to offer you the best service possible.

Outside of Hypnotherapy

When I am away from the world of hypnotherapy I have many interests which include yoga, walking and cooking.

I love animals and currently have 2 cats.

I am a great fan of the outdoors and always find spending time in nature is very therapeutic.  My favourite places are the Scottish Isles and the West Coast of Ireland which I try to visit regularly.  I also have a huge love of the North East of England and its rugged coastline.  I first visited this area to study for my psychology degree in Newcastle and loved it so much that I spent 25 years there.

I am very much looking forward to working with you.

I am privileged to offer advanced clinical hypnotherapy to help you in any areas of your life in which you may feel stuck and want to bring positive changes to.

Clients I have worked with recently have come to see me to help them with:

Anxiety is a normal part of life and can help you to prepare for many important situations. However if this worry becomes constant it can feel all consuming as if it is dominating much of your life. Whether you have had anxiety for a long time and whether or not you know the cause I can help you.

Smoking Cessation

If you’ve tried to give up smoking before without success it’s probably because you’ve relied mainly on willpower. Will power is governed by the conscious mind which is the logical thinking part of the mind. However it is the subconscious mind which is responsible for our habits and behaviours. Therefore any desired changes need to be made at a subconscious level.

Weight Management

Dieting works at a conscious level; you make a conscious decision to redefine your eating habits and then try to follow a particular programme to restrict your food intake in some way. However the subconscious part of your mind still finds the forbidden foods desirable. This means that temptation is really strong eventually persuading you to give in.
